Tips to improve productivity while working-from-home during the pandemic

As we all know it, there is a global ‘work-from-home' movement going on because of the COID-19 pandemic to keep the businesses running and for maintaining the efficiency and output but it’s also believed that this could backfire: the pandemic causes a severe stress level to many, people don’t have designated office places and many have families (not to mention kids) to take care of. This work-from-home environment isn’t ideal for many of the people out there and can easily lead to generating a global productivity slump or also threaten economic growth for many years.
It's obvious that the idea of working-from-home sounded intriguing in the beginning but it also comes with many distractions, might feel more of a chore than doing 9-6 office hours, making it easier to procrastinate and not get the specified work done. But with all the struggles, all of us do our part: try and be productive as much as we can and make sure the outputs are not affected by our sides. One man at a time.

Tips to improve productivity while working-from-home during the pandemic
Designated workspace:

You're the brain is not used to working-from-home or seeing any of your home space as an office, where the work could be done without any distractions.
So, the first thing you have to do is set up a corner where you’ll be working. It should be away from any distractions that might hinder your work productivity. You have to tell yourself and the people around you that work-from-home doesn’t mean you can slack off or not take it seriously but it's still the same work, with the same importance just different environments.

Strict work schedule:
Human brain easily loses the track if you let it, it’s very important to maintain a clear work schedule including the: starting time, ending time and breaks.
Home the environment can never compete to the office environment but you have to make a schedule to keep a tab on yourself. Train your brain to work in the hours you have assigned and take a break in-between whether it’s a tea break or a break to just clear off your mind.

Also, it’s important to micromanage the entire time schedule yourself: set attainable tasks, schedule them and make sure to attain them in the time limit set.

Communication bridge
It’s another problem that can arise while you are working from home, now that all the communication is shifted online you can feel like it has become a little inconvenient. Where you were used to asking for guidance in person, whenever you liked or could see other person’s availability by just rotating your head, you can't do it anymore.

This can lead to uncertainty in your work, to reduce this make sure to get complete guidance and understanding of the work in the beginning so the need to communicate will be reduced and done only when too necessary.

Try to remember why you love your job
It's no surprise that in the time of the pandemic, work can seem too meaningless. There's an Existential crisis going on all the time but try not to fall for it. Just like how you’ve things and people around you that have meaning to you, try to remember why your job has a meaning too and why you started it in the first place and this is how we motivate our employees at Coding Pixel.

It might get hard at times but finding meaning cannot just make it easier for you to work but also be as productive as you need to be.

Be ready for any surprises
Not always everything goes as planned, there is some uncertainty present all the time and you should be always prepared for it.
Few problems that can arise while you are working from are: disturbance of WIFI-connection, any family emergency, etc. So, you should be prepared to tackle problems like these and not let them come in your way of productivity.
