is software development really a dead-end job after age 35-40

Does age really matter when it comes to software development jobs or it is just a number?
Ageism exists in the software industry along with sexism, racism, xenophobia, brogrammer culture etc. And the idea that this field of software development leads to dead-end careers is also true and often faced by people in this age and field.

We believe that technology changes overnight and it is true, it’s a fact that can't be denied and there’s a stereotype very much believed in young people are more enthusiastic and willing to learn than old, but we believe in the end it all comes to how passionate you're towards the opportunity.

If we consider age as a factor and how it affects the career life of a software developer here's so:

  • At age 35+ one might be higher compensation and better working conditions than someone with equally applicable skills who is 25-10, that’s if you get a job.
  • You either get more skillful or either obsolete if you haven't kept up with your skills.
  • Some organizations just hire you not as a developer but as a contractor or an experienced person to manage the project.
  • Some hire you as senior developers but just to supervise juniors and handle the job.
Well, long story short the future sure has a possibility to become dark but it isn't as long as you're passionate, enthusiast, willing to learn. keep up with the field and actually love doing what you do.

Because it’s true that you slow down a bit with age, fluid intelligence declines but experience increase, which mean departments in your need can entirely switch. This change can be a little hard to keep up with but one you’ve, you'll know important flexibility is for your own good.

You can't deny the fact that minds don’t work the same at young and old age but again, some jobs are done better with experience. And as the matter becomes about learning, one can always learn new technologies or polish the old ones but this needs consistency and interest. As long as you’ve both, the opportunities don’t stop knocking at your door.

It's also known that job opportunities get better over time, it might take a little time for you to get a job that actually is up to your caliber but it does pay off like if software development jobs are shrinking blockchain development jobs are growing so you can try your luck in the blockchain development companies USA.

So, yes, in a way, this profession is hard on people who are in their thirties and beyond, not because they lack skills, but because they have more things to consider before we make each move or if their skills are being valued like they should. Whether it is a dead-end job or not depends on your personal situation and how flexible you are.

Reasons why software projects fail

The rate of failure is high, according to a survey taken out in 2019 most organizations have a 75% project failure rate. There are several reasons for this happening but the bright side here is, there is hope and this failure can be minimized and well as prevented as a whole. This article will be pointing out a few of the main reasons why software projects fail so these mistakes can be prevented. Poor Communication Communication as said many times before too is the most important step in software development, communication can be client to team and team to team i.e. external and internal communication when it comes to software development. If the needs of the client are not explicitly explained and talked about then that’s where the problems begin. The bond between the client and the team should be transparent, the ideas should be shared without any constraints and so does the problems and their solutions. Poor communication between the team itself exists too and that causes a lac...
