Does Good Design Really Matter?

Unfortunately, not many business owners understand the importance of good web design and that is the reason why this article exists.

Many business owners don’t give much attention to the design of their websites because when in their opinion if the website has all the functionalities and the information, who’d care about how the website looks like?

It’s believed that 75% of the time, the credibility of a website is judged by its design of it.
That being said, let's talk about how website design really impacts the business and why does it really matter?

First impression
Websites are the face of any business and when it comes to first impressions, it does matter. It’s believed that around 70% of users don’t revisit the website if their first website engagement wasn’t good and the first thing that anyone notices is the design of the website: whether its engaging enough or attractive enough and it is, well and good but if not some betterments should be made.

Increased user interactions
No matter how good the services you provide are, there will always be someone who will be providing the same services but with a better user experience. A stat says that around 38% of website users stop using the website because of the layout and the design is unattractive regardless of the services and information provided on the website.

The credibility of the site
A good design doesn’t confirm the credibility of the site but it sure does help gain many points, site users/visitors make their judgments without even realizing and about 5% of them are directly related to the design of the site, a good well-designed site is expected to be more credible than a one which isn’t.

Customer trust and business branding
When it comes to site designs it’s to believe that less is more, sites with too much information, not well managed, no matter good the brand is, will always push the customers away. Whereas a simple site with attention to detail not only lures the customers but gives an impression that you know what you’re doing and gains the trust of the customers. It helps with the branding of the business; more potential clients are attracted to the business which means the word about the business will spread.

Long-lasting customers
Luring a potential client isn't enough, turning them into a customer and then making sure they stick around is. A good site takes care of the needs of the customers so not only their need of seeing good aesthetics is fulfilled but also their functional needs are met.
Good website design can help do both at the same time.

The market is very competitive and it’s hard to believe your idea is just the only one in the market and you’ve no competitors: there is a very good chance of someone providing the same service that you are and the only edge you can is the way you’ve decided to represent yourself. Your websites are what makes you unique, stand and out from the rest so when the question arises why are good website designs important this is why. They're the identity of our business and you need to make sure it’s presentable and too good to be forgotten about.

is software development really a dead-end job after age 35-40

Does age really matter when it comes to software development jobs or it is just a number? Ageism exists in the software industry along with sexism, racism, xenophobia, brogrammer culture etc. And the idea that this field of software development leads to dead-end careers is also true and often faced by people in this age and field. We believe that technology changes overnight and it is true, it’s a fact that can't be denied and there’s a stereotype very much believed in young people are more enthusiastic and willing to learn than old, but we believe in the end it all comes to how passionate you're towards the opportunity. If we consider age as a factor and how it affects the career life of a software developer here's so: At age 35+ one might be higher compensation and better working conditions than someone with equally applicable skills who is 25-10, that’s if you get a job. You either get more skillful or either obsolete if you haven't kept up with your skills. Some ...

Tips to improve productivity while working-from-home during the pandemic

As we all know it, there is a global ‘work-from-home' movement going on because of the COID-19 pandemic to keep the businesses running and for maintaining the efficiency and output but it’s also believed that this could backfire: the pandemic causes a severe stress level to many, people don’t have designated office places and many have families (not to mention kids) to take care of. This work-from-home environment isn’t ideal for many of the people out there and can easily lead to generating a global productivity slump or also threaten economic growth for many years. It's obvious that the idea of working-from-home sounded intriguing in the beginning but it also comes with many distractions, might feel more of a chore than doing 9-6 office hours, making it easier to procrastinate and not get the specified work done. But with all the struggles, all of us do our part: try and be productive as much as we can and make sure the outputs are not affected by our sides. One man at a ...
